DESCRIPTION:
The Client Relations Manager will:
Work with attorneys to deepen and expand key client relationships
Help design and implement the firm’s account-based marketing program
Support client service innovation and risk-taking initiatives
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Expand client relationships through proactive suggestion of opportunities to add value, cross-sell new services, and increase wallet share of existing services provided
Become a trusted advisor to the relationship directors for key clients and manage all aspects of those teams, including setting and advancing client growth goals and strategies, incorporating the firm’s strategic direction and priorities
Develop, implement, and measure the firm’s account-based marketing program, working in collaboration with Strategic Growth team members
Coordinate and lead internal client team meetings
Follow up with team members between meetings to keep momentum and ensure follow-through on action items, including providing proactive suggestions and ideas
Prepare reports of relationship-building activities, matters, and new business opportunities for strategic client relationships
Ensure the effective use of tickets, sponsorships, and other relationship-building investments made by the firm
Collaborate with administrative departments to ensure we are delivering what our clients want and need. Examples include working with operations to ensure white glove treatment for key clients and Knowledge Services to analyze and disseminate research, news, dockets, and other information on clients and industries to ensure attorney teams are well-informed and addressing trends and issues with clients
Create proposals and presentation materials for key clients
Understand the firm’s practice areas, industries, and all attorneys’ areas of specialty to adeptly identify the right people/ practices to engage with key clients
Provide coaching to influence attorneys to improve their BD and client relationship skills as needed
Serve as the face of the firm at client-focused events
Provide strategic and tactical support for client feedback interviews, end-of-matter debriefs, and client service standards
Assume additional responsibilities as requested
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Highly motivated, resourceful, proactive and creative
Strong analytical and administrative skills
Strong customer service ethic and outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of working seamlessly with high level partners, business development team, and colleagues at all levels
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Confidence and poise in speaking with groups of various sizes
Flexible and versatile approach to working with teams of varying goals, needs, styles and sizes
Comfortable with marketing technology products, including CRM systems
Highly proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to prioritize ongoing tasks and significant projects, as well as manage expectations of attorneys in relation to these projects
Highly organized, efficient and extremely detail oriented, with superior fact checking skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or similar, plus 6 or more years’ experience in professional services with understanding of law firm sales cycle and professional services business development best practices
Account management or client team support preferred
