POSITION

Public Works Director

SALARY $95,000

WORK OBJECTIVE:

Performs highly responsible administrative work directing and overseeing the operations of the Public Works Department. Work areas include, but are not limited to; sanitation, fleet maintenance, engineering, ground maintenance, capital projects, construction, and building maintenance. Plans future expansions in all areas of service including master stormwater facilities. Position is primarily focused on directing, supervising, developing, and evaluating employees. Position requires extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in these business areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, construction, public administration or related field

supplemented by ten or more years’ p

rogressively responsible experience in all phases of municipal public works

including at least three years of supervisory or management experience; master’s degree and/or Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of Florida preferred;

or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.

May be required to have or obtain formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.
