Profile

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient manufacturing of quality products in a manner that is consistent with company policies and procedures and requires an advanced understanding and ability to control the production process. This includes – knowledge of manufacturing operations and required staffing, regulations (FSIS), product specifications and formulations, sanitation, R&D process, and continuous improvement methodologies. This position will provide oversight and training of the operation process in the area assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sr. Supervisor must be able to perform all daily duties of a Production Supervisor which include but are not limited to; working with daily production schedules, verify all production and yield reporting is timely and accurate, confirm lines are adequately staffed, set up correctly and have met all FSIS expectations before start-up, overseeing Team Member exercises and job rotation in order to facilitate ergonomics, daily and weekly payroll process and approval.

Overseeing operation process in a variety of areas and shifts, as directed by Operations Manager or area Sr. Production Manager.

Prioritize safety through daily safety talks, weekly and monthly training and meetings, safety audits, PIC Deviation reviews and safety investigations.

Working with a variety of groups, using Lean Manufacturing principles to analyze, lead and implement solutions.

Providing encouragement and training opportunities to Team Members.

Critical ability to perform the human relations functions such as training, retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems.

Providing continuous education on the importance of food safety and quality

Provide support and fill in for Sr. Production Manager.

Performing other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

High school diploma required

Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school and/or college courses is strongly preferred.

Experience:

4 years of manufacturing and supervisory experience with a high school diploma or 2 years of manufacturing and supervisory experience, a Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

Food production experience is preferred.

Must be able to work a non-traditional scheduled as needed.

Travel – up to 10%

Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills in, Excel, SAP, Power Point and Word

Communication Skills:

Strong communication skills.
