Retail is one of the fastest growing markets, and where there are stores, there need to be several layers of people working within them. Whether you are talking about clothing stores, music stores, or even book stores, there are several people who are going to be working. First, there will be the people who work at the store. These are the people on the bottom the ones who have just been hired. On the top rung, there are going to be the store owners, and those that run the company that owns the store. However, in between these two things, there are the store managers. Store managers have many important duties, and they are the ones that are going to be in charge of much of the way that the store is put together.

In order to be a store manager, you probably will have to have management experience. Many become store manager because they have worked at the store for a long time, and as time goes on they get more comfortable with the store and are giving more responsibilities. Gradually, these responsibilities will culminate in experience that they need to move into the manager position when it becomes available.

The second way that you could become a store manager is by applying directly for that position. If a store does not have any employees that want to become managers, or if they are not gong to hire from within, they might be looking to hire store managers. In that case, you will need to have the retail experience needed, plus some other types of management experience, so that the people who are hiring you know what you are going to do for them and so that they know you are going to be the best person they could have working for them.

A store manager is a person who is basically going to be in charge of the day to day workings of the store. In a very small store, or a small company, the owner of the store will probably act as a manager until they have someone who can take over this job. The manager is typically going to be an hourly position. If the store is going to be open during regular business hours and also on nights and weekends, there is often going to be a manager that will need to be present during these times. Therefore, a store manager is not always going to be a typical 9 to 5 job, Mondays through Fridays. However, many times a store manager does have this position. If there is only one manager, they might only be present during regular business hours. If you are going to be a store manager, you should keep in mind that you might end up working regular business hours, but you also might need to work at other hours as well.

A store manager is typically going to get an hourly rate as well, and what it is will depend on the type of job that they are doing. A retail store manager might get anywhere from 12 to 20 dollars an hour, depending on the area that they are working in and where they are working in the country. A store manger might sometimes be on salary as well, depending on the size of the store and of the company that owns the store.

A store manager is going to have many different responsibilities as part of their job. First of all, they will be in charge of employees. They will be in charge of making sure that the employees are at work, and while they are there, that they are doing what they should be doing. They will need to supervise employees, tell them what they are doing right and wrong, and will need to be in charge of training new employees or training employees on new policies. Generally, the store manager is going to be making out the work schedule. They will need to deal with the rest of the management team and will need to keep everyone in line as far as the running of the store goes on a daily basis.

The store manager will also be in charge of taking commands from the store owner or those higher up, and of making those commands work within the store that they are managing. They will probably need to be working on store security and will also have a hand in ordering of things, as well as the pricing of certain items so that they will sell at the right times. Store managers are going to be responsible for the employees that are under their care so they will also be responsible for the merchandise that the employees are selling as well.

Generally, a store manager will be doing all of the things that the owner of the store would have been doing if they had been in control of the store. Because of that, you are going to need a lot of different training in order to be a store manager, and you want to be sure that you are following through on all of the training that you have received. It is important for you to apply for a store manager job with confidence and with a good deal of experience under your belt.
