John Wittig joins Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada as executive VP, GM
John Wittig has joined Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada as executive vice president, general manager. Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada is a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., a leading distributor of wine and spirits. Wittig has more than 24 years of experience, 16 years of which were spent serving Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, Inc. in various capacities. He was also associated with Brown-Forman, and prior to joining Southern, Wittig served as president of Glazier's Union Beverage Company in Illinois. Commenting on the appointment, Wayne Chaplin, president and COO of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, said, “We are delighted to have a leader of John's caliber. His background with the supplier tier and recent experience with a leading distributor makes him admirably qualified for the position at hand.”
Leo Chandler joins St. Louis Airport Marriott’s team as GM
Leo Chandler has joined the St. Louis Airport Marriott’s team as general manager. Prior to this, he worked as the general manager of the Toronto Airport Marriott. While in Canada, he also headed the Canadian Business Council and built a strong relationship with the Toronto Board of Trade. Commenting on Chandler’s achievements, Bob Farmery, regional vice president, Marriott Lodging Central Region, said, “Leo has a long history of success with Marriott. I am pleased to welcome him back to the United States and to St Louis, close to his original roots in Nebraska.” Chandler has been serving Marriott hotels across the country. In his new role, Chandler will oversee the St. Louis Airport Marriot and ensure that it continues to deliver the strongest sales levels and meeting-planner satisfaction in the St. Louis Airport market.
