Construction Project Manager Jobs description
A construction project manager plans, directs, and coordinates a wide variety of construction projects, including the building of all types of residential, commercial, and industrial structures such as roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals. He schedules and coordinates all design and construction processes. He also has to coordinate and supervise the construction process from the conceptual development stage through final construction, within time limits. The construction project manager also oversees the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment including worker productivity and safety. Additionally, the construction project manager is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses, and, depending upon the contractual arrangements. He is also responsible for directing or monitoring compliance with building and safety codes, other regulations, and requirements set by the project’s insurers.A construction project manager must have a bachelor's degree in construction science, construction management, building science, or civil engineering, plus work experience. Practical construction experience, whether gained through an internship, or a cooperative education program is also important for construction project manager jobs.
