**Medical Affairs Program Manager Patient Monitoring Remote within the U.S.**
This Medical Affairs Program Manager (MAPM) position has three main responsibilities: deep scientific and clinical subject matter expertise; key liaison to cross-functional partners; and program management for the Clinical Research and Medical Science (CRMS) strategy.
The MAPM works under the guidance of the Sr. Director of Medical Science, Medical Education, and Health Economics in the CRMS department to:
Become an expert in the existing and evolving scientific evidence base and clinical practice trends relevant to the Patient Monitoring (PM) Operating Unit product portfolio, specifically our Healthcast digital health business.
Develop clear understanding of, and response to, competitive intelligence and messaging of our products.
Collaborate with the global Healthcast portfolio business development teams to help identify unmet needs and inform investments.
Develop, execute, and monitor CRMS strategic plans for the Healthcast product portfolio, particularly:
Leading activities that foster evidence landscaping and evidence development to guide current and future strategies for medical, clinical, health economic and educational activities.
Facilitating the generation, packaging, and dissemination of medical and clinical information for both internal and external clients.
Aligning scientific, clinical research, educational, and health economics strategies with marketing and technical plans for Healthcast products.
Coordinating the CRMS subfunctions and business partners in executing strategies through program meetings and steering committees.
Establish the highest medical-scientific credibility with internal and external customers and stakeholders through sharing advanced expertise, generating insights, and critically analyzing the evolving science and clinical practice trends

This position is an exciting and new opportunity to work with Medtronics Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Interventions and/or MCMS businesses. Currently part of Medtronic, Medtronic has announced its intention to transition these businesses either into a new stand-alone company (currently referred to as NewCo) or merge them into the business of another company. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of NewCo or upon the transition of the business unit to another company, which may occur in approximately 12-15 months, your employment may transfer to one of these entities.
The business will have the same singular focus, financial commitment, deep domain expertise, and global footprint needed to accelerate the development and commercialization of affordable and scalable healthcare technologies.
**A Day in the Life**
**Comprehensive CRMS Strategic Plans for Healthcast technologies:**
Lead development of the comprehensive CRMS strategic plans, which includes KOL and society engagements, medical education plans, health economic activities, and evidence generation and dissemination.
Call and conduct CRMS regular program team meetings and steering committees to exchange information, define objectives, establish priorities, and develop solutions for emerging problems.
Collaborate with others to create and drive project action plans, including costs, critical milestones, required activities, assignments, etc. for completion.
Ensure continual alignment with cross-functional business partners.
**KOL Interactions and Engagements:**
Conduct or participate in advisory boards and clinical study steering committees.
Develop and maintain medical-scientific/strategic relationships with KOLs, academic centers, scientific societies, policy makers, and other organizations responsible for practice guidelines and recommendations.
Communicate relevant information and insights from key thought leaders to cross-functional partners.
Serve as evidence expert/liaison to key customers.
**Medical-Scientific Input and Communications:**
Continually track, analyze, and report out on new scientific evidence and clinical practice trends to guide the business direction in key strategic areas.
Maintains a deep understanding of the science behind our products.
Develops competitive intelligence in our product space.
Drives education and outreach for safe and effective use of our products.
Develops, implements and oversees integrated evidence-based medical affairs strategic plans for relevant Medtronic organizations.
Regularly disseminate information about significant developments in the assigned therapeutic area to internal customers, providing analysis and interpretation in the context of a larger body of knowledge regarding how the development may affect the interests of PM.
Execute, analyze, and report out on ad hoc literature reviews to support strategic activities such as business development and licensing activities, new product development, broad PM Operating Unit visions and strategies, and clinical evidence generation strategies.
Research and respond to medical information requests from the field team, global and regional business teams, and CRMS partners.
Develop evidence-based content for internal and external use and support field sales training on such as required.
Contribute to internal cross-functional publication planning strategies.
Contribute to Scientific Congress strategies to inform and execute on evidence requirements, knowledge requirements, and publication planning strategy.
**Internal Support and Communication:**
Implement work practices that promote cooperation and build mutual trust and respect among members of work groups.
Provide medical review, clinical/medical opinion, expert counsel and guidance, and specialized assistance as requested internally, as appropriate.
Attend key scientific conventions to obtain the most up to date medical scientific data (including competitive information).
Present CRMS perspective for potential future direction to leadership as requested.
Prepare reports, presentations, and analyses requiring assimilation of data from various sources describing technical, scientific, and / or medical information to audiences with and without comparable backgrounds or knowledge.
Ensure all regulatory and compliance internal and external guidelines relevant to the position are followed.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
Bachelors degree with 5 years of clinical experience within the healthcare industry
OR
An advanced degree with 3 years of clinical experience within the healthcare industry
**Nice to Have**
Medical/scientific background (MD, PharmD, or PhD preferred). Allied Health Degree (PA-C, NP, RN, RT) preferred.
Nursing experience with remote / patient monitoring technologies
Experience with developing and implementing a strategic plan / Program Management
Understanding current medical device regulatory requirements, healthcare system requirements, compliance standards, and ethical obligations
Understanding functional areas within CRMS (Clinical Affairs; Pre-Clinical Affairs; Healthcare Economics, Policy and Reimbursement; Medical Education; and Medical Science, etc.)
Understanding key functional areas outside of CRMS (e.g., Marketing, Compliance, R&D)
Creating and maintaining trust and credibility in professional relations with all levels of clinical / technical / marketing people in corporate, clinical, and academic settings
Developing targeted key opinion leader (KOL) networks and engaging with societies
Collaborating with a focus on inclusion and diversity
Influencing others over whom you have no formal authority
Formulating and executing research strategies using appropriate sources, adapted to answering different types of questions
Familiar with credible sources of scientific and clinical information, such as PubMed
Understanding, interpreting, integrating, and communicating complex information
Communicating clearly and concisely both verbally and through email
Delivering persuasive reports or presentations to audiences both with and without comparable backgrounds
Working self-directed and making decisions independently
Driving towards solutions with strong problem-solving skills
Enjoying work that requires a learning mindset

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations).The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience,certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
