The Town of Lisbon Library Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time Library Director.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Library Director is a professional position responsible for supervising a municipal department with specific
responsibilities including staffing, budgeting, budget management, programming, recommending policy
adjustments to the Town Manager, Town Councilors, and Library Governing Board, and working cooperatively
within the community to further the Library's programs and services to meet the community needs.
POSITION REQUIREMENT
A Master of Library Science degree (MLS) from an accredited college or university is required.
A minimum of 3 years of supervisory duties in public/municipal library services. .
Knowledge/experience in budgeting, programming, and technical services.
Knowledge/experience in current Maine State Library statewide systems/consortiums.
Public relations/community outreach experience.
Knowledge/experience of duties and responsibilities as a Municipal Government department.
Computer skills that include Excel and Window based systems.
Knowledge/experience with online library services and associated technology.
Starting salary $65,852.80 ($31.66/hr) -- The salary is negotiable based on experience.
