Role Mandate:
The Manager, Store Implementation & Support is responsible for planning, testing, implementation, documentation, training and support of all hardware and software changes to the store systems. This includes the introduction of new hardware/software technologies into HBC stores, design and implementation of store systems in new and renovating stores and removal the of store system technologies.
Responsibilities:
• Leading and mentoring a team of full time IT professionals, specializing in store systems hardware, software and project management
• Provide subject matter expertise to the business or other IT departments, and participate in large scale IT projects that involve stores
• Develop the Business Case, Budget and Capital Requisition for appropriate store projects
• Manage the implementation of systems applications and changes within a cross-functional environment, providing overall co-ordination with other I.S. departments and their priorities, bridging business and operational support functions
• Develop and ensure adherence to Payment Card Industry (PCI), Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), project management and departmental standards for all store projects
• Maintain maximum availability of all store systems by providing prompt third level technical expertise for critical problems escalated to the Store Implementation and Support team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience
• Availability to work 24/7 onsite or remote when required for implementation and support
• 5 to 7 years of practical experience evaluating, implementing and/or supporting technology products, in a medium to large Information Systems environment.
• Comfortable and capable of managing cross functional teams and multiple projects and proven ability to develop budgets and project plans and to ensure projects are successfully implemented on time and within budget
• Solid understanding of Point of Sale, Point of Work and PC technology, both hardware and software including experience with desktop and mobile support, installations, and upgrades
• Experience with Store Applications, including: point of sale, debit, credit, merchandising, price management, inventory, returns, shipping/receiving, HR, scheduling and payroll, finance systems and customer relationship applications such as gift registry and loyalty.
• Experience in store systems technology, including: servers/controllers, associate and customer facing devices, LAN and RF platforms and data transmission facilities
• Experience with data communication and computer systems/network experience, preferably with Cisco Wired Network and Cisco Unified Wireless Networks
• Experience with designing and implementing multi-platform hardware technologies in both LAN and wireless environments. Capable of reading drawings and schematics (technical and floor plans)
• Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies. Experience with QA and Implementation testing of software, continuing through to pilot and deployment.
