Mile-long to-do list of process improvement initiatives or tired of constantly plugging holes in a leaky accounting boat? One of Vaco's centrally-located midmarket clients with great work life balance (40, on a rare occasion maybe 45 hours/week) and awesome benefits is looking to onboard a new Director of Accounting to lead the GL and AP teams. It is a very tenured, smoothly-operating group with streamlined and efficient processes in place and a finely-tuned close process.Summary of Responsibilities:* Manage both the GL and AP teams including 2 Managers* Lead the monthly and annual close process* Ensure internal control processes are operating effectively* Multiple comprehensive projects and implementations* Monthly Closing, Daily Reporting, Weekly Reporting* Tax and Audit* Mentor and oversee accounting team* Support technical accounting applications* Proactively drive efficiencies and cost reductionRequirements:* 7 years in accounting, including leadership* Accounting or related degree, CPA required* Public accounting highly preferred* Advanced understanding of accounting including consolidations* Ability to build, train and mentor a team* Proactively drive efficiencies and cost reductionVaco provides expert consulting, permanent placement, executive search, managed services, and strategic staffing solutions for companies around the world, in the areas of accounting, finance, technology, healthcare, operations and more.
