The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. The selected candidate will be an Engineering functional leader for the NOALS contract located in **Colorado Springs, CO** . The selected candidate will help to build, develop and manage operations and support personnel. In addition, they will be responsible for identifying resource needs (people, tools, areas, support services) and working with stakeholders to address these needs.
**The new manager will be responsible for:**
Managing technical personnel assigned to a department with a size of approximately 10-12 team members.
Will ensure qualified and experienced personnel are assigned to meet the staffing needs of the NOALS contract, to ensure mission success.
The role includes all aspects of staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching/mentoring, career development, performance management, compensation management, and separation of assigned employees.
Responsible for overall success of ongoing satellite operations missions, including flight and mission safety.
Analyses and forecasts division or group resource needs for satellite operations.
Ensures that properly trained, certified resources are available.
Interface with external agencies to negotiate usage of ground-based assets across multiple satellite missions.
Work with business development to investigate mission and mission operations opportunities.
In addition to the functional role, the candidate will be a working technical leader the split between direct and indirect is approximately 80%/20%. Duties will be supporting launch and on-orbit operations, will an emphasis on launch integration.
**Basic Qualifications:**
High School Diploma
Five years experience in NOPS launch and real-time space operations.
Demonstrated experience in management and leadership role
Must have U.S. Citizenship with active or current TS Clearance.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Bachelors Degree
Holds NOPS Launch and Operations Lead qualifications
Certified to conduct NOPS real-time operations
Prior experience with NOPS Launch Integration processes and procedures
Prior work leading teams and managing direct reports
Salary Range: $108,700.00 - $163,100.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
