What We’re Looking For:
2U’s Learning Product team leads the development of competitive products and strategies to meet learners’ needs across the Career Curriculum Continuum (CCC). The Learning Product team manages the full spectrum of 2U’s products including open courses, certificates, executive education programs, bootcamps and degrees. The team works across the organization to instill a learner-centric approach to the development and delivery of learning products that best meet the needs of individual learners and their desired outcomes.
In this role, the Sr Director of New Product Development will lead the design, development and market validation of new products and innovative solutions to address new or emerging market segments (e.g. military, undergrad, international). This leader will create connectivity between and/or combinations of products across the CCC to meet learner and partner needs while continuing to position 2U as an innovative leader in higher education. This position requires a demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking and product development sensibilities to evaluate new opportunities, design new products, and mobilize cross-functional teams to successfully deliver and test new products in the market.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Product Strategy & Opportunity Assessment
// Apply expertise in the education market and 2U business model to develop economically viable product recommendations for new or emerging market segments. Conduct, analyze and/or interpret market research and consumer data to identify gaps in the market and problems to be solved that represent growth opportunities for the business. Recommend appropriate actions based on opportunity assessment.
Product Design & Delivery //
Lead
development of new products and/or solutions to achieve product-market fit for new or emerging market segments. Develop and deliver business and product requirements, plus test and measurement plans to validate data-driven hypotheses. Develop, prioritize and manage product roadmap in collaboration with delivery teams. Iterate and enhance new products and solutions based on market and learner feedback.
Stakeholder Communications & Management:
Champion new products and solutions from concept development through delivery. Work cross-functionally with curriculum & learning, operations, marketing, sales, and/or program management teams to drive effective go-to-market strategies and deliver results.
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
Bachelor's degree required; MBA from a top-20 institution is recommended
8 - 10 years of relevant experience in strategy, business development, marketing or product management, ideally at a software or services company; higher education experience a plus
Customer empathy with a focus on persona-based jobs to be done
Proven track record delivering novel products or solutions in market
Ability to think out of the box and find creative, unorthodox solutions when needed
Effective communicator who can inspire and motivate teams
Track record of building strong relationships with key stakeholders
Strong detail orientation and follow through
Sense of humor

In Colorado, the anticipated base salary for this role is
$160,000.00 with potential bonus and equity eligibility. Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.
