Senior Operations Manager

Profile

Directly accountable to manage and coordinate merchandise processing throughout the Distribution Network by driving process improvement through demonstrated leadership ability to engage and motivate others to meet business objectives

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategy Development and Goal Setting


Identify and implement strategic initiatives across the Distribution/E-Fulfillment network
Manages workflow of several departments in conjunction with Operations Managers and individual department supervisors to meet planned units per hour, cost per unit, level of service and accuracy standards
Ensure department goals are aligned with organizational strategy
Develop and administer short and long term operating budgets in conjunction with other distribution and corporate division staff
Effectively manages staffing to meet UPH and CPU goals
Provide strategy for workflow by preparing and analyzing unit plans and reports


Lead High Performing Teams


Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area
Supports an effective culture by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications
Involved in the identification, assessment, and review of succession plans
Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans
Creating and maintaining a work environment committed to excellent customer service


Management


Manages direct reports, systems and projects to achieve unit goals in accordance with Kohl's policies and practices
Administer policies and procedures within assigned areas
Works with other departments and divisions to resolve problems and ensure efficient service
Maintain safety, housekeeping and maintenance standards


Qualifications

Preferred


Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
2 years of direct supervision in a Production/Operations management, Logistics management or related field
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-management skills
Working knowledge of automated distribution/warehouse management systems, Windows, Microsoft Office
Flexibility in hours to support multi-shift operation
