The Company/Opportunity:
I am delighted to be assisting this very well-regarded food manufacturing multi-national who have been in Cork for over 30 years and have a brilliant reputation because they really know how to look after their people & retain their employees.
This Graduate Production Manager job offers an excellent package including a salary of €55-€60 (including shift allowance) a very generous bonus scheme of close to 20%, pension, full healthcare, 23 days holidays, life assurance, subsidized canteen, and a free company GP!
You will have a salary review every year so there will be an opportunity to see your salary improve every 12 months when you are hitting your targets & KPI's.
The Fit:
My client is looking for applicants with a relevant degree related to Food Science/Manufacturing Mgt or equivalent and ideally with 1-2 years' experience in a manufacturing site.
You'll be keen to kickstart your career in production/ops mgt and open to relocating to other plants within the group down the line in 3-5 years so you can get exposure to working in different countries and cultures.
In the Graduate Production Manager job you'll be working with a diverse range of people and personalities so you'll need to have very strong communication skills and be balanced in your approach.
As this is a shift-based job (you get a generous shift allowance on top of your basic salary) you do need to flexible to work a variety of different patterns including days, evenings and nights.
The Job:
As Junior Production Manager your remit will be to support the execution of the production and coordinating the line team in operational activities.
Some of the key elements of this exciting and career advancing job include:
Management of the various production inputs and factors such as material, method, labour force and equipment
People management and ensuring the correct allocation of operators on the various lines.
Working closely with the maintenance team when dealing with breakdown and repairs in the plant.
Supporting and helping to drive continuous improvement & lean initiatives and projects.
Making sure that production is hitting those targets & KPIs relating to quantity, quality, safety etc.
