Job Summary
This highly strategic role is responsible for shaping and growing the FreeWheel brand, including setting the direction based on competitive and market trends, and developing new brand campaigns based on research data about how to best position and differentiate FreeWheel. In addition to managing FreeWheel Council (FreeWheel's customer advisory board), this role is responsible for developing the key thought leadership themes that the editorial team will produce to drive awareness and engagement with the brand. This highly visible role is a critical liaison with external agencies, product and demand generation teams, and the communications team to ensure consistent messaging and positioning.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Tracks and summarizes insights about key marketplace & competitive trends, and other implications from industry research. Uses these insights to help shape branding recommendations. Develops and maintains demographic and other market data as needed to support marketing goals.
Determines brand themes, positioning, and differentiation for externally focused ad campaigns. Collaborates with media planning team to shape the right media plan to reach those audiences; works closely with design team (and external agencies) to execute the creative.
Creates and manages a summary of top content & thought leadership themes that the brand should develop based on client feedback (Councils, sales feedback), editorial trends, product priorities, research insights and PR. Interfaces across the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. organization to generate ideas, align priorities, and assign ownership.
Aligns thought leadership themes with overall brand themes so that they all ladder up into one integrated brand strategy, and drives overarching theme alignment with campaigns, events and other marketing tactics.
Working with the FreeWheel sales leads, manages the FreeWheel Council including creating the optimal meeting formats and agendas, recruiting new members, re-engaging existing ones, and driving **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. executive participation. Collaborates closely with events team to stage meetings successfully, including developing presentations.
Collaborates with Demand Generation team to update website landing pages and develop extensions of brand campaigns appropriate to demand generation objectives.
Recruits customers for Case Studies, including developing compelling stories, and coordinating filming/production with the creative team. Collaborates with sales development to develop go to market plan, and social media team to develop distribution strategies.
Project manages all brand initiatives including launching ad campaigns, websites, Council events, and swag. Provides clarity of timing, roles and KPIs.
Event messaging/design collaboration
Consult/Liase with Employment Brand Manager on campaign to set context for upcoming campaigns and messaging.
Tracks and manages marketing budget for forecasting and expense management.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Requirements:
6-9 years prior experience in the media, advertising, or advertising technology industries
Brand or product marketing experience, and ideally some exposure to demand generation, content marketing, and/or communications
Creative thinker and a good writer
Intellectually curious; interested in learning new trends, technologies, industries
