Position Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor - Electrical is responsible for directing a staff of Electrical Technicians. Coordinating and implementing the operational and maintenance activities of this team including corrective maintenance (CM) and preventative maintenance (PM). The keys to success in this position are to utilize technical and leadership skills, and advanced maintenance systems and techniques to direct the safe and efficient operation of all production and ancillary equipment while developing all direct reports. This position will be responsible for the production maintenance technical team of between 10 to 20 FTE’s.
Principal Accountabilities:
Essential Functions/Responsibilities (ranked in order of importance):
Key member of overall facility Maintenance organization.
Never compromises on safety and hold direct reports accountable for all plant, departmental and individual goals.
Ensures all maintenance related projects and work are in compliance with standards set by USDA, OSHA, SQF, EPA, PSM, HAACP and any additional governing agencies by which we manage our business. Adheres to and positively supports company policies.
Ensure facility and support equipment is maintained at a high level of operational performance where all equipment, machinery and systems are in an up and running state at all times.
Schedule and direct the daily activities of production maintenance staff to ensure completion of assigned, planned and unplanned work.
Work cooperatively with the Maintenance Planning to develop and execute maintenance plans.
Adheres to maintenance budget related to the assigned areas.
Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan, schedule and document all maintenance activities.
Works cooperatively with the Management and internal customers to develop best practices for maintenance activities.
Ensure all contractors are efficient with time and material.
Ensure that required competitive quotes are received and tracked to get the best value.
Develop and implement process improvements projects
Provide formal and informal support and coaching to direct reports as needed to improve performance and/or generate opportunities for further growth and development.
Communicates across shifts.

Must have ability to work fairly autonomously given specific departmental based objectives and strategies. Requires ability to function with mid-level direction and communicate broadly within facility location.
Service Relationships:
Services internal customers. Close working relationships with facilities manufacturing, engineering, EH&S, and Quality Assurance teams.
Physical demands:
Approximate 0-1% travel required and ability to tour facilities and grounds.
Mental demands:
Position requires ability to make decisions effecting operational performance. Must have ability to handle high information load. Requires review and analysis of technical information including drawings, equipment manuals, etc.

99-100% @ manufacturing facility
0-1% @ corporate headquarters, equipment vendors
Education and Work Experience:
Minimum education and experience required:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Prefer experience within the food processing and packaging industry. 3 years of experience supervising a high performing maintenance team is preferred. Other work experience may be taken into consideration. Must have a successful record and experience in supervising and/or leading a production equipment maintenance team. Licensed Industrial Electrician or Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Must have in-depth knowledge of food industry, processes and equipment. Basic personnel computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and Power Point.
Demonstrate a high degree of knowledge of the following systems/circuits; Motor controls, PLC's, electronic drives, medium voltage distribution, basic electrical construction techniques, electro-mechanical systems and a working understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Knowledge of Allen Bradley Drives, Relay Logic and Programming.
Must have experience with CCMS systems and TPM methodology.
