**In this position you will:**
SERVICE: Understand the needs of the customers and prioritizes work assignments and team efforts towards meeting these needs. Ensure that the processes, systems and tools which enable the Biomedical Engineering teams to support patient care equipment and medical center needs are available and are used. Assist with the coordination of Biomedical Engineering work activities affecting other areas in a manner that minimizes disruptions and inconveniences of the customer. Participating member of the Service Operations Center (SOC) in identifying medical equipment barriers or issues that may impact patience care delivery or medical center operations
LEADERSHIP & COMMUNICATIONS: Review customers needs, regulatory requirements and develops programs and policies to address; clearly and consistently communicate status and condition of equipment and systems that support the medical center. Resolve Biomedical Engineering issues and concerns in a helpful and calm manner. Hold regular staff meetings to communicate to staff all appropriate issues, data trends and changes on a routine basis in a manner that fosters understanding and feedback. Appropriately credit team members for the effort and accomplishment of desired outcomes
OPERATIONS: Identify appropriate key indicators that accurately measure performance; Routinely review the performance of the Biomedical Engineering teams and take action when necessary to improve outcomes. Manage and advise department operation budgets, equipment planning and capital projects in a manner which produces effective results and meet fiscal needs of the organization. Review documentation periodically to ensure that records, including work orders, labor reports, purchasing, regulatory documentation, etc., meet applicable standards such as JC, State and Federal agencies, and other regulatory guidelines. Participate on the Environment of Care Committee, and other related committees.
DEVELOPMENT & LEARNING: Coach and support Biomedical Engineering staff with the process of making decisions which support teamwork and produce intended outcomes. Plan and implement formal and informal staff training in a manner which provides current learning and education opportunities for Biomedical Engineering team members. Provide constructive feedback to Biomedical Engineering staff throughout the year which supports the annual staff evaluation process. Select and develop staff who will meet the organizational objectives and purpose. Take time and the initiative to learn new skills, systems and information pertaining to clinical equipment operation and service. Attract, develop and retain talent.
TEAMWORK: Effectively interact within the department and medical center teams to accomplish outcomes in a way which promote teamwork and decision making at the lowest possible level. Encourage and, if necessary, direct staff to work directly with other team members when resolving issues. Develop and implement work schedules and work assignments fairly and equally, and in a manner which is consistent with staff learning and developing plans. Participate with Biomedical Engineering work activities as a team member on a daily basis. Coordinate with Facilities, Design and Construction Manager and/or Senior Design and Construction Manager in regards to major project design and implementation

TECHNICAL: Understand and stay current on relevant standards, strategies, advancements and industry trends in Biomedical Engineering Management, Clinical engineering applications and Equipment fields. When resolving issues, logically investigates, and analyze systems to accurately identify problems. Has the needed specialized knowledge necessary to maintain advanced Biomedical Engineering equipment, software tools and systems. Is a resource for pre-purchase equipment evaluations, installations, equipment performance and equipment planning. Has a good working knowledge of JC, NFPA, NEC and other codes and standards relating to Biomedical healthcare Engineering operations
**Qualifications:**
**Required qualifications for this position includes:**
Specialized technical training in Biomedical/Clinical Equipment. May include Imaging, Surgery, RT or other or equivalent educ/experience
Associate's DegreeBiomedical/Clinical Technology or equivalent educ/experience
5 years in Biomedical/Clinical Equipment Maintenance in a Healthcare setting
2 years in Leadership or Supervisor Role
One of the following certifications required within 6 months of hire; ICC, CBET, CCE
**Preferred qualification for this position include:**
Bachelor's Degree in Management, Engineering or related or equivalent educ/experience
