Job Purpose/Summary:
The Associate Manager, Consumer Insights & Strategy will act as the voice of the consumer, leading the consumer learning agenda for some of Tyson’s fastest growing brands in dynamic and evolving categories, including but not limited to Hillshire Snacking (delivering an elevated charcuterie board inspired snacking experience), Aidells (a playful brand founded by Bruce Aidells in 1983 delivering the most unexpected flavor combinations), Hillshire Farm Snacked! (a recent product launch going up against a behemoth in the category) , and Wright Brand Bacon (a 100-year-old brand holding true to the right way of making bacon – hand trimmed, thick cut and real wood smoked - propelling it to be #1 in the stacked bacon category). They will strategically partner with Marketing to drive growth by developing and executing brand strategy that is grounded in consumer understanding. This individual will report into the Associate Director, Consumer Insights.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

They will be self-motivated and find opportunities to bring new thought and creativity to the processes. Not just managing what exists but finding what can be improved and going for it.
Demonstrate holistic thinking, strategic agility, collaboration and leadership across your portfolio. Develop thorough understanding of your business(es) and act as the voice of the consumer; work with Insights leadership to develop consumer learning agenda to address business objectives
Execute primary research, and synthesize syndicated sources (Nielsen, NPD, Hartman, Mintel, etc.)
Collect, analyze and synthesize consumer learning to tell a cohesive and actionable story
Communicate consumer insights in a clear and concise manner, both through written and verbal communication.
Manage external suppliers to execute research projects efficiently
Effectively manage consumer insights budget to proactively address both immediate and forward-looking strategic needs
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Research or related field required.
2 years of relevant experience, either on the manufacturer-side with a branded, consumer-packaged-goods company, or supplier-side (marketing research, syndicated data supplier, etc.)
Demonstrated success in leveraging consumer insights to drive business results
Must be able to develop objective point-of-view, be seen as strategic thought leader on team, and build constructive rapport with internal clients and outside research suppliers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and storytelling ability.
Ability to synthesize data and identify actionable insights
Excellent planning and project management skills
Strong knowledge of marketing and market research fundamentals including experimental design, and statistics
Qualitative and quantitative approaches
Cultural/Lifestyle trends, eating trends and food industry reports
Presenting to large and small audiences
Creating reports in PowerPoint
A highly motivated leader, eager to learn, with the ability to devise an effective solution in unstructured situations
Proficient in the following:
Syndicated data sources (Nielsen, IRI)
