The Team
The Tommy Jeans Label  is one of the main business drivers within Tommy Hilfiger Europe. Based in the Amsterdam European HQ, the team is split into sub teams: Design, Production, Sourcing & Development, Buying & Planning and Product Merchandising & Market Merchandising.

 

These teams work together in an informal setting to create superbly styled and high-end quality products for the European consumer base. Tommy Jeans presents 4 collections per year (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter) as well as an active Capsules and Collaborations (TJ LAB)  calendar through the year.

 

Position Description and responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership in TJ

 
Collaborate with the leadership of the division (Product Merch, Planning, Design, etc…) on translating long term business objectives into an Marketplace Merchandising Strategy, aligned with the overall Brand/Divisional Strategy.
  • Develop a Marketplace strategy
  • Dimentionalize market thru segmentation and distribution                      
  • Develop a digital strategy
  • Develop Brick & Mortar strategy
  • Identify growth strategy & opportunities with Markets
  • Bring our Concepts to Consumers
  • Participate in cross divisional project related to strategic impact and provide inputs for key presentations.
 

Market feedback

  • Gain understanding of the Market trends (Product and consumer trends) and performance by actively collecting and combining information & insights in order to come up with the right product mix for key markets – Foresighting - Hinsighting
  • Built network & relationship with Key image stores and KA
  • Become an expert on the market and the consumer
  • Translate market demand and trends information to the divisional team - market product feedback, special requests, sell through information
  • Work with the Planning Manager on all pre-market buying commitments and projections
  • Analyze sales per door (account) and per product category. Continually identify and analyze opportunities and threats in each country/market.
  • Identify NOS growth opportunities and Direct sales / seasonal needs.
 

Consumer, Assortment & Segmentation:

Built consumer right assortments with Product merchandising team
Ensure channels are carrying commercial, brand right and profitable collections throughout the business from season to season
  • Segmentation
  • Define consumer profile per key account type
  • Competitive landscape per key account type
  • Product assortment per key account type
  • Assortment (Tiering) recommendation
  • Marketplace adjustments (SMUs)
  • Guide Execution in the marketplace (C2C)
 

Market Support & Coaching

  • Think and act as a Division & Brand  Ambassador
  • Become the Key contact to the Markets
  • Ensure product strategies are being communicated to the relevant markets and ensure launches are correctly supported, For instance, Lead the seasonal Go-to-Market process, inclusive of Train-the-Trainer and Market Launch presentations, sales tools, and Digital Asset creation – in ensuring all Divisional and Product strategies are communicated clearly and effectively. 
  • Provide ongoing support to the Markets during the season, participating in key account selling appointments and visiting the countries to obtain their feedback about the collection
  • Work with the team on development of effective sales tools
  • Become a partner with the Markets  - Serve as the key TJ liason with all Global Markets; work with Market counterparts in identifying growth opportunities and translating them into concrete  strategies.
  • Serve as the key liaison to the Omnichannel / DTC Teams in ensuring a clear, cohesive, and accurate translation of long-term label/gender positioning and initiatives. (e.g. within B&M, .com, etc.)  
  • Work with our in-house marketing team in defining appropriate activities with selected customers

The Ideal Candidate:

This individual needs to be highly collaborative and an effective influencer. Also someone who can drive a complex project to conclusion in a matrix organization. Entrepreneurial mindset, solution oriented, innovative. Ability to also ‘get hands dirty’ and do the work hands-on with a lean team.

 

The ideal candidate should also bring:

  • Extensive knowledge of segmentation concepts globally with Deep understanding of Tier 0/1 Commercial landscape is needed; ideally relationships with target retail partners is a plus.
