Associate Director Production Planning

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for looking ahead strategically to ensure that production is allocated to the plants that enable the company to save cash flow production costs save logistics costs and fill customer orders. The manager may supervise some Analysts Production Planners and Coordinators. In these management responsibilities they are focused on long-term planning and data cleansing. In particular, these positions are responsible for leading the company in identifying future supply demand balance issues and offering solutions to address them. The solutions often involve capital expenditures rationalization of slaughter changes in bird size or other decisions that can materially impact Tyson s profitability. Specific to this position: Forward Demand Inventory and Capacity - portioning and capacity knowledge is required; inventory management across all SKU s for inventory. This category is moderately complex in process varieties; forward supply versus demand balancing including leadership in developing an efficient WIP network; process development as needed to support all related categories to improve effectiveness of short medium and long term planning and execution. This job will include other duties in other categories as needed; strong communication and leadership efforts to coordinate activities of production and sales planning managers as well as leadership in meetings with business units; support of operations management requests for strategic planning including but not limited to capital planning bird placements and bird weights and existing plant process optimization.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor s degree required.

Experience: 8 plus years of related experience.

Computer Skills: Requires the ability to comprehend and lead planning processes through available tools - PPS Excel and Access.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Special Skills: Strong teamwork and analysis skills are required. Must be able to drive the creation of global detailed information and then drill to a summary of analytical executive summaries that provide efficient and effective decision making; be able to work across divisions to deliver timely production solutions under pressure. When called for must quickly make independent decisions and then tactfully explain their actions.

Supervisory: This position may have supervisory responsibilities for reporting staff or others as required.

Travel: 12 or more domestic trips per year.
