This is responsible supervisory work in the Finance Department’s Utility Billing and Customer Service Divisions. Responsibilities include supervising utility meter reading cycle billing, collections, customer service; processing business tax licenses; preparing monthly reports; and reviewing operational procedures. Employee must exercise discretion and independent judgment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of bookkeeping or financial recordkeeping principles, practices, and methods; cross-reference filing systems.
Ability to learn and execute City's utility accounting and billing procedures.
Knowledge of the City’s geographical area.
Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to accurately record and maintain records; compose reports.
Ability to operate general office equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public; exercise good judgment and tact when addressing the public.
Ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Training, Certification, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Minimum of three years in a customer service field supplemented by supervisory experience; experience in applying accounting or bookkeeping procedures.
Or, an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements
Valid Florida driver’s license
