SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Corporate Strategy is a key role in identifying and aligning “where to play” and “how to win” across Tyson Foods $45B business. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Strategy, this role leads the development of key strategy deliverables, including but not limited to advancing enterprise strategy, business portfolio roles, growth spaces, and centralized capability identification and development, informed by current and future operating context and trends. This position influences and works cross-functionally across the enterprise.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Develop, align and enhance enterprise strategy, as well as key emerging workstreams requiring cross-functional collaboration across the broader organization
Guide the prioritization of business portfolio roles and areas of granular growth for global Tyson Foods, informed by enterprise strategy and inclusive of organic and inorganic avenues
Lead the work and alignment related to capabilities required to fulfill growth aspiration, as well as the execution agenda with choices, investments and sequencing
Execute priority strategic & operational projects and lead strategic question evaluation, including but not limited to investment priorities and network optimization
Support and collaborate with business Segments and broader enterprise Strategy Teams in the development of key internal and external deliverables
Develop strategy presentations and narratives to assist greater Tyson organization for internal and external audiences (e.g., Enterprise Leadership Team and Board of Directors)
Critical relationships with:
Enterprise Leadership and their teams
Poultry, Prepared Foods, Fresh Meats and International senior leaders and different levels across their teams
Segment Strategy, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations leaders
Enterprise Functions, including Finance, Information Technology, Sales, Sustainability, Marketing & Insights
External data providers

REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Background and experience: 12 years of experience preferred, including time spent in graduate degree program. The successful candidate will have strategy experience in a strategy consulting firm and/or strategy experience within a high-performing multinational organization. Significant knowledge of and direct experience in the food sector preferred. Global experience a plus
Key capabilities and skills:
Knowledge of manufacturing or commodities sector and/or vertically integrated business models within food sector, including an understanding of the supply chain and key business levers
A thought leader with executive presence, i mpact-focused forward-thinking orientation and cross-functional leadership
Ability to think forward and push teams in the identification of profitable opportunities and high-growth spaces
High collaboration skills to work across the global business, all Segments and enabling Functions
Ability to process and synthesize large amounts of information, extract insights and make recommendations
A highly motivated, self-directed individual, a relationship builder with strong influencing skills able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Strong project management and analytical skills are required. Hypothesis-driven problem solving skills, ability to structure approaches and formulate insights around complex issues, ability to develop creative solutions and new approaches
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization
Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel (pivot tables), Word, and Teams.
Travel: domestic and international, as required by the business. Up to 40%
