ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are
not
intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.
Responsible for all aspects of general ledger accounting, including review and approval of monthly journal entries, monthly reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers, monthly bank reconciliations, monthly accruals and reversals, fixed asset accounting.
Responsible for monthly revenue recognition and analysis and approval of revenue formula according to ASC 606.
Publish monthly and yearly financial statements and other management reports as needed.
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget. Assist in preparing annual budgets as needed.
Prepares accruals and other entries for entry into the accounting system.
Responsible for monitoring the unbilled account to ensure billing is timely.
Prepares and reviews financial information as required for compliance reporting to various government agencies including ICE reports and SBA annual reporting.
Provides management with timely reviews of organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities within the Corporation.
Prepares financial analysis for project management.
Mentoring and training of lower level staff.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; or five to ten years related experience and/or training.
Deltek Costpoint accounting system experience in a multi–company environment
Two (2) years of diversified accounting experience including project, government contracting and consolidated financial statements.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Knowledge and proficient in the usage of computers, especially Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Must be organized and have the ability to meet deadlines while multi-tasking.
Must be able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize and accomplish your work.
Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully.
Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.
Preferred
Minimum of ten (10) or more years of experience in the field.
CPA or CMA certificate (or imminent CPA/CMA candidates).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity.
