Description

The Manager, General Accounting performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects. The Manager, General Accounting works within specific guidelines and procedures; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems; receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines approach, resources, schedules and goals.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting Accounting Manager opportunity to play an active role on our leadership team, will have the challenge to lead, motivate and develop others. The Manager, General Accounting oversees processes related to the monthly cycle, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports. Decisions are typically related to resources, approach, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives involving own departmental area. Requires cross departmental collaboration, and conducts briefings and area meetings; maintains frequent contact with other managers across the department.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

6 or more years of technical experience

2 or more years of management experience

Progressive leadership and management experience

Prior experience within the financial industry

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business Administration

Certified Public Accountant license

Previous experience with Oracle Financials

Previous experience with Hyperion Essbase/Smartview

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Working knowledge of SQL and the PL/SQL tool

Knowledge of Power Query
