Description
The Process Optimization and Automation Manager will be responsible for evaluation, design, and implementation of best practice business processes involving robotic process automation (RPA) to improve service and business efficiency. The Manager will be expected to analyze data related to workflow, processes, and reporting to evaluate the efficiency of current-state business processes and opportunities for improvement through the use of RPA. Additionally, they may be deployed to support design of future state workflow across the network.
The Manager will support the implementation of process improvement including design and deployment of improved workflows generally and through the use of RPA functionality specifically. The Manager will design and assist team members in creation of process metrics reports that will be sent to leadership for clear visibility into operational KPIs and quality standards. The Process Optimization and Automation Manager will have a strong understanding of business processes in the Revenue Cycle, but may also assist with design and process changes using RPA in other areas of the Hospital. Common objectives for process redesign will be to maintain high quality, customer-focused service delivery, to ensure the business remains compliant with ever-changing state and federal regulations, to preserve transaction accuracy and to drive greater efficiency. This position will also have a role in collaborating cross-functionally with colleagues representing various Revenue Cycle areas and functional departments to achieve common objectives. 
 
Principal Accountabilities:
1.    Lead and coordinate quality and efficiency projects and activities to ensure continuous best practices, and drive business results and growth; Focus on the customer and be an active participant in creating a seamless experience
·         Analyze existing workflows, perform benchmark gap analysis and assist in the design to transform work flows; Develop processes and procedures to effectively meet or exceed customer expectations.
·         Develop & update process documentation, work instructions and other tools to support execution.
·         Partner with IT to incorporate system tools and functionality where applicable.
·         Collaborate cross-functionally on process evaluation and improvements; Conduct on-going research and benchmark against industry best practices.
·         Utilize RPA to enhance process efficiency. Maintain associated vendor relationships working with IT.
·         Organize cross functional groups across departments to work collaboratively toward the effective and efficient pursuit of pre-determined goals.
·         Prioritize projects to ensure timely completion of deliverables and milestones; Perform analytics to determine level of impact and use outcomes to prioritize projects.         60%
 
2.    Support workflow redesign and reporting for Utilization Management Department as well as other clinical areas of Hospital as requested; Manage work distribution for team members assisting with various Revenue Cycle projects, providing education and feedback as needed; Provide oversight and management of tasks related to Transfer DRG\u2019s.                                                                                                                                                                             35%

Education
Four-year college degree required; Advanced Degree/Certification (Process Management/Lean Six Sigma) helpful.
Experience

Minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in roles requiring the use of analysis and process redesign
Demonstrated experience leading others in process analysis and redesign initiatives\u2022 Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into measurable action and ability to effectively present projects to management for evaluation and prioritization\u2022 Ability to present complex processes in easy to understand terms to various cross functional stakeholders to receive approval and prioritization\u2022 Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, both large and small, with competing due dates \u2022 Strong skills in process improvement, business transformation, customer service, communication, leadership, problem solving and team building\u2022 Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and communicate to management any concerns regarding resources, timeline obstacles and prioritization\u2022 Experience with RPA tools a plus\u2022 Ability to work on project deliverables with minimal supervision and present status and results to Director for approval Must be detail oriented and highly organized\u2022 Excellent collaboration, teamwork and interpersonal skills\u2022 Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required\u2022 Strong presentation skills and ability to create presentations. Ability to create process flow diagrams in Visio or other software applications as needed\u2022 \u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills\u2022 Effective time management and organizational skills\u2022 Ability to effectively meet customer needs, taking responsibility for customer satisfaction\u2022 Ability to maintain effectiveness and professionalism when experiencing change in work tasks and/or the work environment
