The Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Operators team at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as an ATR Ops Shift Supervisor.

Our team works an on-site 4x12 schedule located at our ATR facility.

Responsibilities Include:

Report to the ATR Operations Assistant Manager for overall operation and supervision of the ATR.

During off-normal hours during assigned shift, directly supervise all operations, and direct emergency operation during casualty situations.

Oversee operator performance is conducted in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure crew is properly trained and certified. Provide oversight and backup to the Plant Foreperson (PF) for authorizing and controlling work performed.

Use extensive and varied technical/operational expertise to direct shift crew activities. Ensure reactor experiments and balance of plant operates in strict conformance with Technical Safety Requirements, Facility Safety Analysis requirements, and other documents that make up the ATR Safety Authorization Basis, and other approved implementing documents, procedures and operating manuals.

Oversee all ATR and Utility Area equipment danger tagouts, as the Facility Area Supervisor. Review proposed changes to ATR plant and experiment facilities and controlling documents to ensure they are accurately maintained and compatible with safe and efficient operation and other ATR organizational objectives.

Provide work direction to shift operating personnel during reactor transient and unstable conditions, abnormal operations, reactor startups, and emergency situations.

Ensure ATR outage activities are conducted according to approved plans and schedules and that plant conditions are such that the work can be performed safely.

Maintain Shift Supervisor qualification and Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) Certification. Oversee training and certification of all operations personnel assigned to the shift. Ensure that only certified/qualified and proficient individuals operate the ATR watch-stations.

Act for the Operations Manager in their absence, per written or verbal directives. Provide overall direction during emergencies in accordance with approved Emergency Procedure Network Procedures.

Coordinate and liaison with support groups for safe, efficient, and effective operation.

 

','!*!Minimum Requirements:

Applicable Bachelor of Science degree plus 5 years of experience or 10 years of experience/education in lieu of Bachelor's degree.

Must hold or have held an SRO and Shift Supervisor certification at ATR.

Must be certified as ATR Shift Supervisor at the time of appointment.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain Human Reliability Program (HRP) requirements, as well as a Department of Energy Q clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Salary Grade 220 ($107,520 - $177,336)
