Description
The Associate Director, IT Disaster Recovery (DR) & Infrastructure Resilience plays an important role in the solution strategies and architecture support employed for DR and Cyber Recovery (CR). This role is also responsible to standardize infrastructure resilience patterns and compliance in partnership with Infrastructure Owners.
Responsibilities
The Associate Director role is a proven IT leader with technical depth and passion for IT resilience. This experienced leader is able to motivate their team, influence outside their area of authority, communicate effectively and guide multiple efforts across disciplines. Responsible to analyze requirements and architectures across cloud, hybrid cloud, server, storage and networking protocols. Ability to champion a balanced approach focused on resilience and operational functionality. Capable of leading through transformation and change.
Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills to influence DR, CR and Resilience strategy
Lead cross functional team with multiple priorities in a dynamic, enterprise program
Model and drive continuous learning, engagement and development
Technical background and DR experience; able to assess recovery solutions and products, recommend/influence selections and manage vendor relationships
Oversee and take accountability for solution design process, ensure solutions align with business strategies, operational workflow, established budgets and service level agreements
Able to articulate technology solutions, strategies and architecture across a spectrum of business and technical stakeholders
Drive definition and adoption of DR, CR and Resilience reference architecture and standards
Provide thought leadership on CR solutions, capabilities and process
Lead CR program objectives and operations
Lead research, POCs and pilots on DR products
Produce solution strategy documentation and manage solution artifacts
Lead engagement with Infrastructure Owners and Teams to develop, maintain and test resiliency patterns
Identify sustainable best practices that align with strategic and tactical goals for resilience.
Develop and maintain key partner relationships across the organization
Translate strategy into actionable requirements, set standards, measure progress, remove obstacles and address gaps
Communicate strategy, program objectives, lessons learned and feedback to peers and senior leaders
Servant leader with ability to apply systems thinking to lead through organizational change
Required Qualifications
7 years technical experience, preferably infrastructure or architecture
5 years DR experience, demonstrating solid understanding of DR strategies and concepts
5 years IT Resilience experience
7 years overseeing projects or programs that require cross-functional technology solutions
7 years leadership experience
Bachelor's degree
Ability to identify and resolve complex problems (technology and process)
Broad knowledge of operational and technical strategies and architectures
Broad knowledge base including cloud, compute, network, storage, cyber
Experience in implementation of technical solutions
Ability to understand architecture frameworks
Understanding of integration patters and techniques (APIs, ESB, etc.)
Strong analysis, problem solving and decision making
Works well within a team or individually
Accepts accountability, take responsibility and problem ownership
Ability to provide direction and vision within and outside area of responsibility
Excellent communication skill, verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
DRII Certified BC Professional (or similar)
Cyber Security / Cyber Recovery experience
