Description

The Dental Director (part-time) provides dental interpretation and decisions about the appropriateness of services provided by other healthcare professionals in compliance with review policies, procedures, and performance standards.

Responsibilities

The primary roles and responsibilities of the Dental Director include:

Develop and lead the plan's dental strategy to meet Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) requirements, incorporating oral health prevention and treatment into population health efforts and the delivery of holistic, person-centered, integrated care;

Develop and implement strategies to expand member access to dental services, including recruiting and expanding the service delivery capacity of dental providers;

Oversee plan performance on dental quality performance measures

Implement an ODM-developed, unified dentist manual and prior authorization requirements;

Oversee utilization management of dental benefits to ensure members receive timely, appropriate, and medically necessary dental care.

Required Qualifications:

Dentist with a current, unencumbered license with the Ohio State Dental Board; DDS or DMD degree

Minimum of 5 years of private dentistry experience

Board Certified

Excellent written and verbal skills

Knowledge of the managed care industry including Medicare, Medicaid and or Commercial products

Analysis and interpretation skills with prior experience on quality management, utilization management, discharge planning and/or home health or rehab

This role expected to work 20-25 hours per week
