Security Manager Jobs description

Security managers establish and document their employers\' system security standards. Security managers develop, implement, and evaluate system security programs and ensure that all information systems, technology infrastructure, and data stores are in compliance with established security standards. Security managers coordinate with other managers in their departments regarding system and network security issues and perform system security audits at various levels and produce reports on security issues. Security managers create training programs to promote knowledge of security issues among the information security personnel.

A candidate for a security manager job should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology and several years of experience in a system security environment. Candidates for security manager jobs also should have knowledge of the system development lifecycle, service desk procedures, system management procedures, and application and data management procedures. Having a system security industry affiliation may be advantageous.
