‘Customer Back’ is one of the core principles of our Powering Progress strategy and Digital plays a fundamental role in enabling its delivery. Whether it’s data and analytics that drive ongoing insights into our customers’ needs, enabling offers and solutions that customer value now and into the future or putting in place the underlying integrated systems, processes and platforms that enable a market-leading customer experience (CX). As eCommerce and Marketplace Product Manager, you will be responsible for development and deployment of new eCommerce business models and commercial capabilities that serve the larger B2B eCommerce & Marketplace Strategy. This role will sit at the forefront of how new Commerce platforms are leveraged for Shell to “win new” customers, and for our customers, a unified, user-friendly experience that encourages them to “buy more and buy new” from existing Shell platforms. This individual will work to define and develop new opportunities in form of value cases, new business models, revenue streams that either expand on existing Commerce platforms or create new capabilities in Shell.
This is a unique role in Shell wherein the Product Manager will have the responsibility to work outside-in, to bring the best of external best practices in Commerce & Marketplace to Shell and where relevant opportunities lie, to do things differently working from the Customer Back. Therefore, this role requires a strong external mindset and entrepreneurial spirit to think outside of the box and work closely with Business to stress test the desirability, feasibility and viability of new eCommerce business models as a channel for delivering greater value to Shell.
This role requires proficiency across the following five key dimensions:
Product Manager experience including working in globally distributed Agile teams

Ability to build strong collaborative partnerships within and outside of the organisation
What’s the role?
For B2B Commerce, this role will be responsible to work closely with Innovations Business focal points to identify, define and deploy use cases that leverage on existing Commerce platforms to deliver greater incremental value for Shell and deliver experiences that encourage more customer stickiness. The Product Manager will also play a key role in spanning across sectoral strategies to explore how commerce and marketplace offerings can help with Shell’s ‘Digital Decarbonisation’ objectives.
For B2B Marketplaces, this role will be responsible for co-owning and defining Shell’s Marketplace strategy by working outside-in and bringing industry best practices and experience to identify and grow our marketplace offering. This role will develop and nurture Marketplace as a capability in Shell and ensure our B2B business partners have ability to self-serve via an established process and handrails for marketplaces.
