The individual is part of the senior leadership of the CTSI and serves as a lead and role model for the SPL lab, through management and responsibility for the administration of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. Management of the sample processing laboratory includes personnel management, interacting with many different study groups regarding their protocols, attending protocol in-services to assure that samples are ordered appropriately, liaise with nursing staff regarding sample collection, overseeing or preparing sample shipments and implementing and maintaining a bar-coded based sample inventory and tracking system.u0026nbsp;u003cbru003eu0026nbsp;u003cbru003eAdditionally, the Lab Manager has responsibility for standardization of policies and procedures across the processing activities at five different clinical research centers to ensure harmonious workflow and adherence to regulatory guidelines. She/he is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of new protocols at five separate clinical research centers, which includes assisting with the budget preparation, management and recharge process for cost recovery.
