Sr Dir, Logistics Systems
The Director of Transportation Systems is responsible for the systems supporting the transport of product from vendor through store delivery. This includes responsibility for inbound planning, freight settlement, yard management, outbound planning and vehicle telematics. The individual provides overall guidance and leadership to new systems development and package implementation. As a business partner, the role requires partnering with business counterparts to identify and deliver system or information enabled process improvements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Participates in the development of systems and processes associated with the efficient transport of merchandise through the C&S distribution network
2. Works closely with business customers developing strong relationships that result in the identification of new opportunities to achieve business benefits, the coordinate plans to realize these benefits, and completion of the work required to implement the new solutions.
3. Develops and improves management, technical, and industry acumen of direct reports.
4. Provides vision, direction and for the Supply Chain / Transportation Systems application development group including setting high level priorities, coordinating with business at all levels, and the reporting of group activities.
5. Identifies, implements, and monitors compliance with statements of policies and procedures to assure that proper documentation is maintained and that the required controls are implemented.
6. Establishes & fosters system vendor relationships.
7. The position requires in depth industry and supply chain knowledge and a strong understanding of the systems that support the transport of product through C&S’ distribution network.
8. Plans and directs the hiring, training and development of personnel; appraises subordinate performance, administers promotions and salary reviews, and applies employee disciplinary measures when required.
9. dentifies programs to measure benefits, particularly productivity-related, in order to insure value is being added consistent with productivity goals.
10. Defines proactive organizational framework that supports both end-user computing and IT professional computing with proper balance to maximize benefits for the enterprise.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position requires in depth industry and supply chain knowledge and a strong understanding of the systems that support the Vendor supply chain at C&S.

Education (Minimum Needed): Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline. Education requirements may be satisfied with commensurate experience.
Experience (Minimum Needed): 8 - 12 years, Experience with at least one of the following Transportation Management Systems (TMS): JDA/Manugistics, I2 Technologies, BGI International, Manhattan Associates, Oracle/G-Log, LeanLogistics, Sterling Commerce/Nistevo, One Network Enterprises.
Specialized Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job: Grocery industry expertise; Domestic Transportation & Systems expertise, specifically within the realms of TMS, YMS, WMS, EDI, Routing and Scheduling, vehicle telematics, strategic sourcing of transportation services and supply chain visibility.
Special Skills: Strong organizational, facilitation, and project management skills required
