Manager, Recruiting and Development Operations

The Manager, Recruiting and Development Operations is responsible for ensuring that the design and execution of key recruiting and talent development processes achieve the outcome intended. This role will work closely with the Company’s HR and Recruiting teams in identifying and designing effective systems and processes. Reporting to the Senior Director, Talent Management, this position will manage the People Experience Team and is a key member of the HR Leadership Team.

As part of the Marketing team, you will be the lead for K12’s private pay websites, paid media landing pages & digital assets. The right candidate will be a self-starter and highly motivated. This is a hands-on role that requires someone with thorough understanding of the latest web development practices including A/B testing, a keen eye for web design, a solid comprehension of digital marketing & web analytics.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises 2 - 6 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Maintain and improve upon recruiting and talent development processes to ensure efficient and effective operations, and deliver additional offerings to make the employee experience exceptional.

Create a sustainable pipeline and community of qualified candidates for key positions.

Manage job and interview fairs for recruiters, including candidate vetting process, budget, marketing and ROI analysis.

Develop and execute strategies to manage our employer brand and reputation including, career site content, social media, online reviews, employee newsletter and other strategies.

Take leadership in translating strategies into operational delivery plans, gain buy-in from broader leadership group, manage change and execute on plans.

Work closely with Corporate Communications and Marketing to align the communications channels and messages to the overall Employee Experience road map.

Create and maintain overall employee experience calendar that unites people across teams, departments and locations, and energizes company culture.

Build on existing feedback channels and surveys in order to maintain an open and fluid effective feedback culture; create and/or edit tools, training materials and resources to help partners and leaders successfully build action plans based on survey results.

Create direct, thoughtful and clear communications in a matrixed and distributed organization currently using multiple communication channels.

Be resourceful and motivated to find answers in a fast-changing environment taking ownership in bringing ideas and solutions back to the senior leadership team.

Identify opportunities to refine the entire employee experience from onboarding through career goals.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required AND

Three (3) years of recruiting or recruiting operations experience AND

Three (3) years of project management, data management and/or event management experience OR

Equivalent combination of education and experience


Knowledge of current State and Federal Wage, Employment Laws and HR policies and procedures

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to organize and lead a project to completion

Proven ability to manage change with maximum buy-in

Effective problem-solving

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate sensitive and confidential matters effectively to all levels

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, to manage the administrative processes of an HR department, and to identify problems requiring escalation

Must be able to work evenings/weekends – as needed by management and client groups

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint; Basic proficiency with UltiPro or other Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS); Web proficiency

Ability to travel 10% of the time

Ability to pass required background check


Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Senior PHR (SPHR) certification

Experience in education or curriculum development organizations
