Our firm leads the way in holding abusers, schools, and big tech accountable for the harms they cause.

Our Brooklyn-based firm is hiring an experienced and enthusiastic Operations Manager to support our growing team of attorneys and legal professionals. The right candidate will oversee all HR and Office Management duties as well as nurture a positive, collaborative and inclusive work environment and culture. This position reports to the firm’s owner and is the glue that holds the many fast paced, moving parts together. The ideal candidate will grow with the firm, including potential to take on more elements of law firm administration and management of new teammates.

The position is only suited for an experienced and organized torchbearer who is a sharp and energetic logistical ace, critical thinker, and problem solver. Dedicated to the Firm’s mission and success, the Operations Manager will remove hurdles and add stability that allows the firm to be the fiercest advocate for our pioneering and amazing clients.

The Job:

  • Manage all elements of human resources including payroll, benefits administration, recruitment and hiring, vendor relations, IT, purchasing, and leasing.
  • Recommend new approaches, systems, and procedures to consistently improve on employee happiness, company efficiency, and overall success of the firm.
  • Maintain up-to-date confidentiality agreements, manage compliance with all city, state, and federal workplace and employment laws, and lead Covid related safety and compliance protocols.
  • Manage reception, meeting room scheduling and preparation, and process incoming mail.
  • Direct overall office management and ad-hoc projects including physical upkeep and digital organization.
  • Coordinate with the firm’s accountant and bookkeeper on accounts payable, accounts recievable, billable hours reporting, expense reimbursement, and client invoicing.
  • Partner with the firm’s leaders to support a positive and inclusive culture that upholds core company values and promotes a great employee experience.
  • Serve as the company morale booster and cruise director, keeping the firm a warm community that acknowledges staff holidays, birthdays, events, and all aspects of fun.

The Candidate:

  • Three to five years of experience in operations, human resources, company culture, administration, and office management.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to use good judgement and problem solve.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and the ability to drive culture and employee initiatives.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal compliance laws, privacy regulations.
  • Ability to work with integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Experience in MS Office applications, payroll/timekeeping systems, and IT/business infrastructure.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in victims’ rights or values based work.

This is a full-time position working a hybrid of remote and in-person until we are able to reopen fully and safely. We offer a competitive salary, paid time off, holidays, 401k, medical, dental, and vision insurance.
