The Logistics Load Planner will achieve this by communicating quickly and effectively through the entire process, from pickup to delivery, while working quickly to resolve complications that develop on a shipment. There is a strong emphasis on working with internal members, suppliers, carriers, customers, and distribution centers.u003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003cbu003eEssential Functions:u003c/bu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003culu003enu003cliu003eResponsible for performing inbound load planning activities by applying logistics skills through consolidation of purchase orders, routing and selecting the best possible carrier, mode, and transportation strategy to meet service and freight income expectations (cost, highest service).u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eManage day-to-day activities, track, and trace loads, communicate load changes and or issues, maintain load visibility (end to end) from origin to destination and assist with issue resolution and communication.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAssist carriers in resolving issues regarding loading, pickup appointments and communicate to appropriate parties as necessary.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eTake part in account and customer related programs and special projects to drive efficiencies and continues improvement efforts.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAwareness of and ability to identify optimal freight solutions to achieve and surpass desired results, in driving transportation metrics such as payload utilization, late PO impact, cost per pound, on-time performance and saving initiatives.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eResponsible for achievement of period, quarterly and annual transportation goals by planning the transportation of products from suppliers to the end distribution center using the most cost-effective methods.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eRequired to be highly analytical to generate daily/weekly/period reports as required from the TMS, ERP, Power BI and any other KeHE systems to facilitate revenue, cost, savings based continuous improvement.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eConsult with project team members and customer stakeholders to identify, define, and document business needs and objectives, current reporting capabilities, and challenges related to the business functions.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eManage and report on relevant KPIs.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eFind timely, efficient, and cost-effective ways to transport good.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAnalyze cost efficiency of existing lanes/routing guides and load configurations on an ongoing basis, implementing efficiencies where appropriate.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eResearching procurement and shipping options, analyzing financial data, creating estimates, identify problem areas and budget deviations and overseeing projects. u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCreating and maintaining documentation of procedures and processes (SOPs).u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMaintain the necessary data to drive optimization utilizing the capabilities of the transportation solution system.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCollaborate with carrier management, supply chain, sales, and other necessary departments to improve load profitability, reduce negative freight income, create optimal cost and service offering to identify opportunities for improvement.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eIdentify and implement process improvement opportunities working across internal and external customers.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eBuild relationships with and work directly with carriers to understand their service capabilities, improve tender acceptance rate, on-time pick up and on time delivery, and continuously monitor their performance, this includes direct interact by phone, email, and/or in person.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePartner closely with 3rd party carriers as well the KeHE fleets to drive out waste and achieve appropriate service levels.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAssess service issues. Provide root cause analysis to resolve chronic problems (either internal or external). Ability to find creative solutions to service issues.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eBe able to resolve situations quickly, communicate status of problem, and work with the appropriate subject matter expert until it is fixed, and escalate issues to management as they arise.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAssure that established KeHE policies and procedures are followed in carrying out accountabilities.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAny additional inbound KeHE inbound transportation program/projects. u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003cbu003eMinimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude:u003c/bu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003cstrongu003eEducation/Training:u003c/strongu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003culu003eu003cliu003eBachelor's Degree in business, finance, logistics or supply chain preferred.u003c/liu003eu003c/ulu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003cstrongu003eRelated Experience: u003c/strongu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003culu003eu003cliu003eMinimum 2 years of supply chain, logistics, purchasing, or work in the transportation industry required. Prior experience working in a fast-paced foodservice purchasing and/or logistics environment is highly preferred.u003c/liu003eu003c/ulu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003cstrongu003eKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:u003c/strongu003eu003cbru003eu003cbru003eu003culu003enu003cliu003eMust have excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, customer focused.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMust be able to interpret data into meaningful solutions.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eDemonstrate a keen attention to detail, be able to communicate across cross-functional teams and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel u0026amp; Outlook), Access u0026amp; TMS system. u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMust be able to use excel pivot tables, zoom meetings, and have knowledge of BOLs/PODs and utilizing them to confirm delivery.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMust be results-oriented, self-directed, be able to problem solve, have excellent time management skills, possess strong analytical and project management skills.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMust be able to lead a team and manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneouslyu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eStrong process improvement skillsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eExpert knowledge in transportation and market trends. u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAbility to influence others and able to communicate with senior management leadership in the transportation industry in a professional manner.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eStrong people skills, strong verbal/written communication skills, including being able to independently compose various communications.
