Profile

Bering Straits Logistics Services (BSLS) has an immediate opening an IT Manager in Winchester, Kentucky. Position supports the National Guard Bureau Defense Consequence Management Support Center (CoMSUPCEN). Serves as the overall subject matter expert for TLC on all IT related processes and equipment. Responsible for keeping the websites operational at all times except for scheduled server maintenance. Also responsible for overall operation of hardware and software furnished by the Government under the contract.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Accomplishes information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center.
Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Requirements :
Required:
Have a current SECRET level clearance OR the ability to obtain one.
10 years experience in IT systems architecture with technical responsibility for websites, databases, and networks. Network Operating System
Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years experience or minimum 10 years experience as a Network Administrator
Must have Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer/ Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or proof of enrollment with completion plan.
Experience with Microsoft Server 2008 R2 Active Directory
Database: Experience with Microsoft SQL required, certification preferred
Website: Current website is being redesigned using asp.net C # coding. Web creation skills using raw HTML coding required
Architecture: LAN/WAN skills using Cisco switches and routers required
Experience DHCP, DNS, and Domain Controllers required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Technical Management, Technical Understanding, Analyzing Information , Informing Others, Staffing, Problem Solving, Data Center Management, Developing Budgets, Coordination, Strategic Planning, Quality Management
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Ability to be task oriented, self motivated and have the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and work as team member as well as a team lead.
Ability to work in fast paced and compliance driven environment.
Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from staff, other departments and senior management.
Preferred:
Twelve (12) to fifteen (15) years of experience in the field
