However, manager employment in a little or smaller business establishment, the whole management affairs may be single-handedly controlled and managed by a single individual, however with designated persons to assist certain tasks, like negotiating activities with the clients or other parties, handling the over-all preparations of some important documents, contract-review of certain transactions, monitoring the existing materials and other resources, purchasing needed items, development of the products and services, promotional ventures, logistics, distributions, and other regular set-up of systematic plans both short term or longer term target.
Most of the managers have educational background and trainings particularly more on human resources management, organizational development, effective planning, leadership strategies, marketing techniques, product innovations, and productivity in order to perform a more competent management job. With their over-all performance and impact to the whole organization, they may climb up farther to the higher ladder of executive positions. Furthermore, they are often seen in some building offices with full of documents and papers on their table while so busy attending their visiting clients, or attending appointed calls from outside links, or so restless in making reports and other plans of action. They are also expected to have frequent travel from one place to another, involving different types of seminars, trainings, and other advanced studies. Most of the managers are good at inter-personal relationship and have the better skills in human relations which are good assets in expanding the associations, affiliation, and linkages of the organization in the outside world.
Furthermore, regular standard hours of manager job per week may range between 40 to 60 hours and even more. They used to work beyond the regular time that most of the employees have been rendering in a day. In fact, most of their overtime work is not part of the compensatory service since they are expected to stay longer in the office due to some problems that need to be fixed, meetings that have to be done, and other concerns that requires urgent attention. They are generally on salary and that is included in their pay.
